CocoaHeads March Meeting
In March we will have a guest from Stuttgart. Tobias Günther the founder of the popular git client “Tower” (www.git-tower.com) is happy to join us and speak about Tower and git in general.
The schedule:
19:00 - Doors open
We will open the doors for soft drinks & beer.
19:30 - Welcome Round & Announcements
19:45 - “Workshop” with Tobias Günther
“Surviving with Git: Undoing Things and Recovering from Mistakes”
In this hands-on session, we’ll have a look at Git’s various “undo” features. My intention is to give developers more confidence in their day-to-day operations when working with code: “mistakes can be undone” is something I’d like the audience to keep in mind. In the session, I will both talk about the theory and show the corresponding commands / tools in practice. I’ll be using both Git on the command line and the popular GUI “Tower” to show how to deal with mistakes in real-world scenarios.
20:30 - Short Break (with Pizza)
20:45 - “AMA” with Tobias Günther
“How We Work and Live at Tower”
In this ‘Ask me anything’ session, I’m happy to talk about our culture, communication, marketing, and tools. We’re a completely remote and bootstrapped / self-funded little software company, one of the few remaining ‘Indie Dev Workshops’. We have thousands of customers all around the world in companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon, but also in small teams and freelancers. Ask away! I’m hoping for a lively discussion!
Afterwards - Get together.
Time to have some discussions about the talk, current topics in the Cocoa world or anything else, really. And grab some more drinks.
See you there!
