CocoaHeads September
In September, we have a new host, COYO, and will talk about Swift UI again. After August’s theoretical introduction and understanding the underlying concepts, this month Heiko will demonstrate how to convert a view of an actual app to SwiftUI and solve common problems with SwiftUI.
Our schedule:
19:00 - Doors open
19:30 - Welcome Round & Announcements
19:45 - SwiftUI in Practice by Heiko Goes
20:30 - Get together
Heiko’s description:
After Sven’s nice theoretical talk about SwiftUI last time, I will do a live-coding hands-on session about SwiftUI (“look, no slides!” 😄). I willl show my first steps creating the UI for my existing App “myBees”, which was created 2013 in one week together with a friend of mine. It’s an app used by beekeepers for documenting the visits of their beehives. It consists mostly of NavigationControllers and Table-Views.
The data is stored via Core-Data. I am planning to cover the following topics:
Fundamentals
Navigation, TableView and Modal Dialog and a little bit styling
@State and 2-way binding
@ObservableObject - @Published
Environment
Core-Data (FetchResultsController)
Heiko is asking, which of the topics are most interesting to you and which he should spend more time one and if there are any other topics you would like to be covered. If you have an opinion, please send him a message via Meetup or Twitter (@Chrichton).
