Lena Mattea Stöxen - Taking the NSExpress: From CoreData directly into Swift Charts
Last year at WWDC22, Apple introduced Swift Charts. An easy way to make beautiful charts in SwiftUI. In their sample, Apple uses (for simplicity) datasets they create in sorted arrays. When using CoreData, there is a good chance that the datasets aren’t ready to be used in a statistic.
This talk shows how to create statistics with CoreData in a quick and efficient way. This includes ideas on structuring data as well as solutions for problems that may arise. The focus is on expanding FetchRequests with NSExpressions, to bring our data from CoreData directly into Swift Charts.

Lena (if you know her online, then you probably know her as ‘Thea’ or ‘Tea’) studies computer science with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (“Duales Studium”; German for “it’s complicated”).
What I really enjoy is probably programming, which can be seen as either “not having a hobby” or “not having a job”. Over the last few years, I was fortunate enough to win the Swift Student Challenge twice.
When I’m not thinking about a programming problems, I’m probably playing golf or painting.

Florian Schreiber - iOS Apps in Kotlin - How far can we push Kotlin/Native?
In this talk, Florian will show us how to build iOS apps in Kotlin. We will be first looking into what an iOS app really is, how we can recreate that without Xcode, and lastly how we can do it with Kotlin. With that knowledge, we’ll mainly focus on how to create UI, since, well, we’re not using Swift or Objective-C.

Florian is a Software Engineer at FREENOW and loves to tink about different topics at night including building his own utilities, hosting them on his own servers, or just try to do stuff on iOS that Apple didn’t intend him to do.
